I liked this from Rob Breszny's book, PRONOIA Is the Antidote for Paranoia: How the Whole World Is Conspiring to Shower You with Blessings.
"In certain Native American traditions, the hole was a symbol for the female genitalia, through which souls enter this realm. In American scientific lore, a wormhole is a backdoor shortcut between two places in space separated by an astronomical distance. In my personal mythos, those are my two favorite nuances in the archetype of the hole.
When I was a kid I loved to fantasize that I'd obtained a magic hole like the one Bugs Bunny had in the comic books. It was a portable hole that Bugs could take with him everywhere and apply to any barrier he needed to slip through. Once he even managed to slap it up against the sky, giving him access to another dimension where the whole world was inside him, not outside. (Or was that a dream I had?)
What would you do with your portable magic hole?"
My thought: Have you read Philip Pullman's trilogy? Especially, the second book, The Subtle Knife?

2012: It's Not What You Think: A Reading on Future Trends, Oct 13, 7-9 pm, $35
Tonight we will do an intuitive reading about what may be coming in the immediate future. Penney will take questions from her intuitive “trance” state about trends, 2012, the changing nature of time, and will sketch out a positive vision for the new Intuition Age we’re now entering.
Intuitive Insights for Consciousness Workers Oct 14, 7-9 pm, $35
You may not realize you are a consciousness worker—one who teaches, heals, uplifts, and holds stable, sane patterns of energy and awareness for others. The times are presenting great challenges for consciousness workers today: temptations toward apathy, overwhelm, panic, fragmentation, subtle forms of ego, and blurring lines of ethics. Penney will address many issues and will take questions to help generate a cohesive body of information about the subject.

Who Does a Better Job at the Economy and Family Values?
One of my intuition colleagues, Stephan A. Schwartz, Senior Samueli Fellow for Brain, Mind and Healing, recently posted these interesting facts concerning politics on our intuition listserve. He says:
I came across a story yesterday and think it may introduce some actual information without polemics. It comes from an article by Yagil Hertzberg in the San Francisco Chronicle.
Comparing the track records of the two major parties reveals that their programs fall neatly (with one exception) into two categories - Economy and Family Values. In my analysis, I compared all administrations going back to 1960 and all states based on how they voted in the presidential elections since 1980.
To overcome bias, I have used symbols (A, B, C and D) to represent the two major parties under the two categories. All state-related numbers (including those for the District of Columbia) are per person.
Economy
Jobs: Since 1960, each of the A Party administrations has delivered higher rates of jobs creation than any of the B Party administrations.
Deficit: Since 1960, the deficit each of the A Party administrations has passed to its successor was lower than the one it inherited, while each of the B Party administrations has increased the deficit. The average yearly deficit under the B Party administrations was 277 percent higher than the average deficit under the A Party.
Productivity: The gross state product of the 20 states that voted for the A Party candidate at least 5 times out of the last 8 elections (let's call them the A states) is 15 percent higher than the other states (the B states).
Household income: The median household income in the A states is 16 percent higher than in the B states.
Poverty: The percentage of persons below the poverty level in the A
states is 21 percent lower than in the B states.
Health insurance: The percentage of people without health insurance in
the A states is 25 percent lower than in the B states.
Advantage: Party A
Family values
Divorce: The divorce rate of the 20 states who voted for the C Party candidate at least 5 times out of the of last 8 elections (let's call them the C states) is 19 percent lower than the other states (the D states).
Birth to teenagers: The teenage birth rate in the C states is 38 percent lower than in the D states.
Birth to unmarried women: The unmarried women birth rate in the C states is 7 percent lower than in the D states.
Infant mortality: Children born in C states are 24 percent less likely to die before their first birthday than children in D states.
Murder: The murder rate in the C states is 17 percent lower than in the D states.
Rape: The forcible rape rate in the C states is 20 percent lower than in the D states.
Aggravated assault: The aggravated assault rate in the C states is 18 percent lower than in the D states.
Robbery: The robbery rate in the C states is 10 percent higher than in the D states (This is the one exception).
High school dropouts: The dropout rate in the C states is 16 percent lower than in the D states.
College: The college graduation rate in the C states is 16 percent higher than in the D states.
Advantage: Party C
I asked each of my friends to pick the category he or she considers more crucial, and then I showed them the key to the symbols. This is the key to the identity of the two political parties analyzed by Yagil Herzberg:
A - The Democratic Party
B - The Republican Party
C - The Democratic Party
D - The Republican Party

The Air Aware
We forget how powerful the air is when we notice it as the missing element in our experience of the unified field. Here is a small excerpt from The Air Aware: Mind and Mood on a Breathing Planet, by David Abram, from the September/October 2009 issue of Orion magazine (my emphasis in bold):
". . .After all, mind is a quintessentially quicksilver phenomenon, impossible to isolate and pin down. As soon as we try to ponder the character of awareness, we discover that it’s already escaped us—for it is really the pondering that we’re after, rather than the thing pondered. We find ourselves unable to get any distance from awareness, in order to examine it objectively, for wherever we step it is already there. Mind, in this sense, is very much like a medium in which we’re situated, like the ineffable air or atmosphere, from which we are simply unable to extricate ourselves without ceasing to exist. Everything we know or sense of ourselves is conditioned by this atmosphere. We are composed of this curious element, permeated by it, and hence can take no distance from it. (The contemporary word for the mind, psyche, was once the ancient Greek word for wind and breath, much as the word spirit derives from the Latin spiritus, meaning a breath or a gust of wind. Likewise, the modern term atmosphere is cognate with the Sanskrit word for the soul, atman, through their common origin in the older term atmos, which originally signified both air and soul indistinguishably: the atmosphere as the blustering soul of the world.)
To acknowledge this affinity between the air and awareness, however, is to allow this curious possibility: that the awareness that stirs within each of us is continuous with the wider awareness that moves all around us, bending the grasses and lofting the clouds. Every organism partakes of this awareness from its own angle and place within it, each of us imbibing it through our nostrils or through the stomata in our leaves, altering its chemistry and quality within us before we breathe it back into the surrounding world. Awareness, in this biospheric sense, is a quality in which we participate with the whole of our breathing bodies; as your body is different from mine in many ways, so your sensations and insights are richly different from mine. The contrasting experience of a praying mantis, or of a field of wild lupine, is as different from our experience as their bodies are different from ours. Each being’s awareness is unique, to be sure, yet this is not because an autonomous mind is held inside its particular body or brain, but because each engages the common awareness from its own extraordinary angle, through its particular senses, according to the capacities of its flesh."
Are you avoiding YOU?
I've lately been feeling an odd experience of being in limbo, not really engaged. I noticed I wanted to retreat, be silent, watch DVDs, read, and do menial tasks. I didn't particularly want to "make progress." I felt something might be wrong with me, that I seemed to be avoiding deep experience, which I've always craved. Shallowness! The biggest sin to me! I also began to notice that most of my clients and friends were feeling something akin to this as well, so I decided to "feel into it" and see if I could find something going on under the surface. Maybe it wasn't just some personal flaw after all.
What I understood, from my inner voice, was that we are all at a point of huge transition right now, as though we are about to step all the way through a doorway that so far we've just been looking at and contemplating walking through. The "old" reality—that based on separation, fear, will power, and linear cause-and-effect thinking—really seems old and ineffective and boring. The new reality, what I call the Intuition Age, is bubbling up out of our particles, both inside our body and in the air and things of the world. It is in the process of revealing itself and we are getting glimpses, and shots of whole feeling states of how it's going to be, but it isn't fully registered yet. This will still take some time to integrate.
Because we can't identify with our old habits, old identities, old ways of making our reality happen, and because we can't feel the fullness of who we are becoming yet, we are rocking and floating in limbo, between realities. And yet, this not-exactly-knowing-things reality is also a fine reality, and we can engage with it for the surprises and discoveries it offers us, for the secrets of transitions it reveals.
The problem is our left brain, which wants life to be defined, compartmentalized, and based on dealing with the ever-present fear of physical and emotional reality. But we are now breaking the tyranny of left-brain dominance, moving more into the right brain and its direct connection with the soul, the unified field, the collective consciousness, and with the new holistic "brain" of our body, organs, tissues, cells—all of which receive and transmit energy information. We don't have to know the Plan in its every detail! The Plan evolves every millisecond and can't be pinned down, doesn't need to be pinned down. What we need to know and do comes to US, we don't have to find IT.
But not knowing how the new Intuition Age reality is going to look and feel, before it fully emerges, is a left-brain worry. The entire rest of us, in all our multi-dimensions, is perfectly happy, relaxed, and engaged with the process. And this is a big process! Our bodies are changing and the more we fall into the process of acceleration and transformation, and get rid of clutter, the easier that rebuilding and recircuiting of our body can occur.
We're not avoiding our SELF! We're just not quite in alignment with the integration of the new higher frequency energy. It definitely affects us, and if we're distracted, not "being with" the process and the energy, it makes us feel jittery and hyperactive. We bounce away from our body, partly because the way we feel isn't the way we USED TO FEEL. And this is largely because we're semi-conscious, and thus reacting to what's happening to us rather than consciously responding and engaging. We've got to tune in and be with our bodies and receive—embrace—the new energies and run the energies through us and back out into the field; pass it on. Receive some more. Enjoy the energy!
I saw that what was happening to me was that I was trying NOT to distract myself, by being quiet. By doing gardening rather than marketing. After all, trying to make progress is something I did in the old reality, and some deeper part of me knew that I didn't want to create my life from will power, lack, or fear anymore. I wanted to reinvent marketing, reinvent the whole idea of work and career. The following is from Dr. John Amaral, a chiropractor from Santa Cruz, CA, and I think he makes some good points. Any of these ideas can serve as a trigger to remind you that you need to drop into your body and feel the energy working on you:
Here are 8 signs that you're in reaction...you're moving away from a feeling or experience rather than moving toward wholeness in that moment:
1. You’re suffering. Your motivation is to get away from the pain or discomfort - whether it is physical or emotional - not because you’ve transformed and you’ve raised your standard but because you’re in reaction and you want to escape!
2. You want the symptom gone without you having to change anything about YOU.
3. You want someone to do it for you, or some magic solution to take you out of your experience.
4. You use words like “Always” and “Never” to keep yourself locked up. Now things are permanent. Always and never are a recipe for suffering: “This always happens to me. I never get what I want. It never works out for me. I’m always left behind. I’ll never have enough money. I’ll never have the relationship I want. I’m always screwing up.”
5. You find that you keep having “Problems”! When you are transforming there are challenges and opportunities, when you are awakening there are lessons and gifts…but problems are the experience that something is stopping you while you're running away.
6. You take things very personally. Somebody makes a little comment and suddenly it becomes all pervasive...so much bigger than it really is, and you feel victimized.
7. You feel like you have to let go of something. There’s nothing to let go of when you're transforming! You’re focused on grabbing the next trapeze bar, not letting go of the one you're holding. If you feel you need to let go of something, you’re never going to get rid of it. The way "out" is through Awareness, Acknowledgement and Acceptance of where you're at (Dr. Donny Epstein's Formula for Somatic Awareness).
8. You desire (whether consciously or subconsciously) constancy over growth and change. Your choices are out of safety and constancy - survival - the lowest level of human development.
What's happening to all of us, and to the planet, and every form of life, is a fantastic, good, great, amazing thing! We are making light-years of progress without having to "make progress." We and the world are doing it together. Let's be present for it, eh? We bought tickets to the show, so let's participate actively. This way we'll speed through the transformation of our body and reality, on the momentum created by the many, and we'll be the leaders in the Intuition Age.

A Nature-Based Map of Wholeness
Peter Brandis, based in Australia, whose website, Imaginal: Remembering the Dream of Earth, writes this in his blog:
To access our deepest self we need a nature-based map of wholeness. This is because modern culture is thin and brittle, and not enamoured of depth. The way of nature is an old, well-worn path, made smooth by many ancient feet. The basis for this map is the four elements; earth, air, fire, and water, in their physical and metaphoric sense.
There are many four-fold maps for understanding the human soul. The most comprehensive and inspiring nature-based map of the human psyche that I have encountered is from Bill Plotkin.
What follows is a short description of the four elements, so you can work out what is going on in your own life by asking some questions: Which element is strongest in my life, which is weakest? Which element encouragingly speaks to me? Which do I avoid?
Air – is the element of new beginnings, light, mind and intellect, ascent, expansion, and connection to spirit. Air is life, the breath of the living earth, constantly moving.
Fire – is the element of growth, energy, playfulness and spontaneity, of raw emotion. It is a place where we can move into a state of wonder. Fire can be healing (or it can burn), as our lives get tempered in the fire of life.
Water – is the element of descent, movement, emotions, flow, and the power of dreams and imagination. In water, we dive deep into the energies of the unconscious, as ego gives way to soul and shadow. Water knows its destination, and moves with grace and power to get to where it is going.
Earth – is the element of stillness. It is where we learn endurance and courage. It also represents community, teaching, responsibility and eldership.
An authentic life depends on movement. Any choice we make can in time become a prison so if we understand where and how we are positioned in relation to each of the elements we can choose when and how to move. We can recharge the water of life if it has become stagnant. We can become winged and fly to new horizons or to safety. We can move into stillness and the warm dark soil by connecting to earth. We can bask in the sun and allow a charge to enter our life. The elements weave a spell of magic around each other.

Remove the Veils
"Remove the veils and chunks in yourselves. And don’t think they mean anything; they are only in the way of true meaning. Be the space of yourselves; feel. Feel into the subtle distinctions, and even those go in time. The outer is disguise; the closer you get, you fall into the Welcome. This skill is primary. Then you remember movements. Align yourselves to matching spirals, move energy-forms up down in out, whatever is called for. These moving things are your kin. The words and images move into form, your praises and prayers move out. You will learn to move yourselves together to commune with Us.
"You will go where the old trees grow, for they are your kin, friends, and teachers. You will go where the sun shows the four directions, where the birds fly over in their well-worn paths. They are kin. And you will stay in contact with the rhythms of moon, seasons, storms. Now, you will erase old habits, rediscover love, remember what you know together. First, reverence to what the other brings out in you, the gifts given by the other to further the growth of You, and reverence to the differences and similarities that enjoy dancing together spontaneously in perfect balances and imbalances. Then, reverence at how you belong to what’s Greater, to an Us that seems so familiar when you find it. You are grinning as you remember the path!
"Then, more. Be patient, it is all enfolded in your very natures, like the oak in the acorn. When you are We, we will do the works, and it will be like swooping and diving and rising on drafts of warm air. We crave this. Have been waiting. Unanticipated discoveries coming. Surprise amazes with its joy. No other purpose. Now, just be thankful; it sets the tone. Inside, only cooperation."

Recipe for Peaceful Living
I've culled a variety of notes into this summary. Hope you and your friends find it useful! Love, Penney Peirce
Inner peace is not static and passive!
Peace is a function of BEING, ALLOWING, ENGAGING, AND FLOWING.
1. BE IN THE CENTER: Bring your attention into the present moment, and inside your body. Know your body as a kind of awareness, receiving energy information via sensitivity from the field around you. Let your mind and heart/soul and body encompass one another, and merge into one unified awareness in each moment you notice.
2. EXPAND YOUR PRESENT MOMENT TO INCLUDE PAST AND FUTURE: Let go of planning and reminiscing. Don't let your left brain project into worry, other people's realities, or other locations and times. Feel yourself as a large ball of awareness that can expand and contract, as though it's breathing, and as you expand, you know more about your higher vibrational life, your potential, your destiny, and how you fit with the collective. As you contract, you focus on materializing things and making life personal.
3. MONITOR AND CHOOSE YOUR VIBRATIONAL STATE: Identify your home frequency—the feeling of your soul expressing through your personality and body. Keep your attention on the way this feels, and on qualities like curiosity, enthusiasm, cheerfulness, sincerity, innocence, pleasure, and lovableness. Choose to return to this state of feeling and being whenever you inadvertently shift into lower frequency states like self-sacrifice, frustration, or fear.
4. NOTICE WHAT YOUR INNER PERCEIVER IS CAUSING YOU TO NOTICE: Check in and wake up often while you're centered in each moment. What is your deep self showing you? What do you already know about each situation that occurs? What do you really want to do next that will keep you in tune with your home frequency? What's "right" about each situation? How is everything helping you evolve?
5. USE AND DIGEST WHAT YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN GIVEN: What you have now in your life is what you already created from the vibrational state you've been radiating. Life has patterned itself this way to please you. Use it as a resource—to learn from, to build on, to dive into and experience more deeply. Get the full benefit. Once you can understand why you have what you have, and use it for growth, service, and celebration, the next just-right ideas can flow into you and make themselves known, and you can decide to shift your frequency to a new level if you want.
6. ENGAGE WITH WHAT COMES: As you notice what's most real and interesting to you, engage consciously with the idea or action. Whether the new thing comes as an idea inside your mind, or as an event or person in the "outside" world, it's all coming from your soul and filtering through the vibration of your personal energy field. Nothing occurs by accident. What you need is provided. Cultivate trust in this principle.
7. IDENTIFY AND DISSOLVE CONTRACTIONS AND HOLDING PATTERNS: Wherever you feel tension—a dull lack of awareness and energy, or a hyperactive obsessive quality of awareness and energy—there is a misperceived idea and probably a matching emotional state that interferes with your calm, joyful, soul creativity pouring through you unimpeded. Root these out, give them space to talk to you, let your heart/soul wisdom reframe the original wounding situation, and replace the contraction with soft flowing energy. Create freedom for yourself by giving yourself spaciousness. Detoxify.
8. FOLLOW THE FLOW: Sometimes the Flow brings you stuff, sometimes space. Sometimes you move, sometimes you're still and silent. The Flow knows!! It is the collective wisdom of all souls and forms of life. Sometimes what's indicated is that you let go and let the Flow move you without knowing what's happening exactly. Other times the Flow indicates it's time to make a choice, take an action, invoke a result. The Flow always oscillates; stay with the whole wave. Stay in the moment and choose what's choosing you! Remember: The Creation Process moves from Being, to Doing, to Having, to Being again.
9. STRETCH YOURSELF: When you think of it, stretch a little beyond your comfort zone, vary your routine, take up more space in the world. See what fills up the space. To help do this, visualize more light in your body and aura, or run more physical energy, or more love, or 50% more enthusiasm and positive attitude. Breathe more deeply.
10. CONNECT WITH THE UNIFIED FIELD AS A LOVING CONSCIOUSNESS: Feel how there are no real boundaries, skins, barriers, endings. One energy runs through everything. It's easy to know in this Field because everything you need to know comes into the moment with you. Feel how friendly, cooperative, and cocreative the Field is. Feel how provision is natural; whatever you need will come to you, whatever others need, you will think to give.
11. KEEP YOUR HEART SOFT AND SWEET: There is no purpose anymore for the hard heart and the sacrifice of soul expression. Only the soft and sweet heart can access truth and wisdom, visions for the high-frequency life, and the mechanism for helping others receive what they need. By keeping your heart soft and sweet you understand the real power of blessing yourself, others, and the planet. Link your heart to the network of all hearts through all time.
