diamond light takes the room
destroying walls brilliantly
no self importance

sitting on my sofa
hurtling through space
turning into the sun

feels like falling through a cloud
coming out the other side
there’s no more down

angels send me gifts
only gifts
and sometimes, later,
the good sense

Near Future Financial Prospects
Message from John L. Petersen, The Arlington Institute:

We appear to be on the brink of the systemic financial system change that we have mentioned here in the past. More and more analysts are now talking seriously about the possibility of a fundamental failure of the global financial system. Here are two succinct articles that, in Thomas Homer-Dixon’s case, argue that the complexity of the world’s financial system has moved from our being able to anticipate risk to now being intrinsically uncertain, and Nouriel Roubini’s rapidly becoming famous piece on the Risks of a Systemic Financial Crisis.

FROM RISK TO UNCERTAINTY, by Thomas Homer-Dixon, Toronto Globe and Mail, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 (contact The Arlington Institute for this pdf)

Rising Risk of a Systemic Financial Meltdown: The 12 Steps to Financial Disaster By Nouriel Roubini

5 questions to ask yourself to discover what you've outgrown and can release

As you evolve, you will become bored with ways of being that helped you learn your lessons in the previous phases of your life. When things seem stale, stagnant, or stuck, you've probably outgrown some behaviors and beliefs and need to shed them as a snake sheds its skin.

1. What activities have become second nature to me? What things do I do out of habit? Which of these activities or behaviors still bring something important to my growth and happiness? Is there another, more conscious way I could do this that would suit me better? Which parts of these behaviors could I change or totally dissolve?

2. What thought patterns continually enter my mind that act like wet blankets, suppressing or stalling activities my soul wants to do? Who do these beliefs or ideas really belong to? Did I pick them up and internalize them from a family member or partner? Can I become bored with these ideas now and give them back to their rightful owners?

3. What "shoulds" run my life? How might I act if these edicts were not present? Which ones can I dispose of now?

4. What unconscious "vows" have I taken that begin with "I will always" or "I will never"? Are these vows necessary for me today? Can I consciously complete them and release them, knowing the behaviors I wanted to integrate into myself have been successfully learned?

5. What childhood behavior patterns have I been operating under that keep my self-image juvenile and immature? How do these behavior patterns involve other people who I unconsciously try to make into parental figures? Which of these am I bored with and ready to dissolve entirely?

5 ways to stay in touch with soul
while engaged in any creative process

The soul is not just present as you access your vision, it is present in every step of the creativity or manifesting process. By acting, then checking in with the soul, then acting while you're feeling the soul, you will learn to be mindful in everything you do.

1. As you contemplate beginning a creative process, let yourself spend time gestating or ripening like a fruit on the tree. Don't jump in too soon but stay in touch with the soul's provision and abundance a little longer, then a little longer. This way your vision expands, and the information and energy you need for the rest of the manifesting process will be built into the process.

2. As you step forward into a creative process, begin with actions that have the most juice, that fulfill your curiosity, and engage your attention the most thoroughly. Allow yourself to enjoy the vitality and easy flow experience of the rising, cresting wave.

3. As you act, check in often with the soul. Am I maintaining my sense of pleasure? Am I being entertained? Is my attention fully engaged; am I being mindful? Every moment contains soul, not just the final outcome.

4. Once you have achieved a physical result, do you let yourself have time to totally enjoy the magic of having it? This is spirit in matter, the quality of your attention shaped into form. Can you internalize everything that has happened and the experience of the outcome?

5. After the result has manifested, can you let go and return to the "void" consciousness, the experience of spaciousness and wide-openness—and find pleasure in that too? Can you allow yourself to be bored with the old but not yet be certain of the new? Can you return to the experience of being, rather than doing and having? Can you have faith in your period of lying fallow? The mind, which is focused in three-dimensional reality where things occur by cause and effect, must rest before it can be refilled by the soul.

Great Simple Idea! Increase Your Vocabulary
While Feeding the World's Hungry

John Breen, from Bloomington, IN, created a free web-based "game" where you guess the meaning of words, and for each one you get right, he donates 20 grains of rice to the U.N. World Food Program. So far he's donated over 20 billion grains of rice, enough to feed a million people for a day. I just love people who think cleverly and solve several problems with one solution! I tried his game and it's quite addictive! You just want to keep going and going as you see the bowl of rice graphic filling up with grains. Plus, I've learned a handful of new words and clarified the meanings of several I used without thinking. If you'd like to play with it and be charitable at the same time, go to www.freerice.com and have at it!!

5 tips for using intuition to
receive your soul's guidance

To receive guidance from the soul level of your own self, it helps to use your imagination to raise the frequency level of your body, thoughts, and feelings.

1. Imagine your soul is standing behind you as a light body. It places its energy hands on your shoulders, bends forward and whispers a message, or some guidance, in your ear. What does the soul say? Write it down and perhaps expand the message by using direct writing.

2. Imagine your soul is standing behind you as a light body. It places its energy hands on your shoulders, then gently steps inside your physical body, permeating every part, every cell, and settling down inside you, matching up part for part. Now your eyes are the soul's eyes, your hands are the soul's hands, your voice is the soul's voice, and so on. Let your soul guide you from within by first taking you for a walk. Where does the soul want to go? What does the soul cause you to notice, and to think? If you meet a person, how does the soul cause you to interact; what does it say? Then, expand this practice to a more complex activity, like going to a party, to work, or to the market.

3. Make a list of your most urgent questions, issues, or preoccupations. Then phrase a question like: What do I need to know about how to _____?, or Help me understand the underlying dynamic that causes me to _____, or How can I effectively change _____? Then use the driect writing process to write as the soul.

4. Listen to the things you say to others for a week. Notice the content when you give advice, explain something or teach, give feedback, or even when you're just talking to a friend and make a surprising point. Write down the things you hear yourself say, the subjects you bring up; these are messages to you from your soul.
